Now that the holidays have wrapped up and the Christmas lights are down, Rod and I can focus on the next big adventure, having a baby! Yesterday we went to Babies R Us, and just looked ...and looked, and looked! Good grief! We have been to Babies R Us about a million times in the past, but normally on the hunt for some hidden registry item that probably hasn't been on the shelves in 2 months! This time, it was different. We found ourselves comparing the weight of stroller units! We started making a list (that is how we start any project) of all the things we may need. We decided to only include items needed in the 1st 6 months so we don't overwhelm ourselves. At one point while we were "looking" Rod said to me, "I guess we're in the 'Parent Club' now."
Final thoughts: How can something so small need soooo much stuff??

My First Blog
This all began simply because I wanted to leave a comment on Brooke's blog. One click led to another, and now instead of folding the laundry, I am writing my first post.
Christmas was lovely this year. The best part of the holidays for us was what was missing! There were no airports, no rental cars, no luggage, and best of all no layovers. I did all of my shopping in the same city I live in, wrapped the presents without concern as to whether or not they would fit in the suitcases, and made a quick 5 minute drive to my Mom's house to enjoy the holiday! THIS is why we moved home, and none of it is lost on us. I can't tell you how many times we've remarked on the convenience of it all.
The highlight this year, of course, is the pregnancy. After 2 miscarriages, this baby is especially exciting....but more on that in my 2nd post! For now there is a load of laundry desperately in need of some folding. :)
